Cybersecurity incidents have increased by 2000% since 2020.
Now there are new service providers called Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP) while the current IT providers (called Managed Service Providers or MSPs) also provide security services.
MSSPs argue that IT security is crucial that MSPs should not handle it.
In some cases, based on the regulatory and other requirements, it is probably better to have an MSSP look after the IT security.
However, many MSPs do provide IT security services.
You don’t have to look for a new IT security provider but first, check with your current IT provider if they can look after your IT security.
Whether you use an MSP or MSSP, please make sure that you have someone that can help with “incident response,” i.e., if there is a cyber attack or a data breach, you will need someone to assist. They are usually not cheap, but it is essential to have someone in your books.
